Tropical Storm Gert expected to strengthen, timing here

The track of the storm takes it between Hatteras and Bermuda on Tuesday, keeping it off the Carolina coastline by approx.

The depression is now sporting wind speeds of 35 miles per hour and is moving north-northwest at around 14 miles per hour.

Meteorologists at the National Hurricane Center have their eyes on two disturbances in the Atlantic, one of which is situated just off the east coast of Florida.

Gert has sustained winds of 40mph and gusts up to 50mph.

Barca target Dembele skips Dortmund training
Should Dembele's move go through it would see Dortmund make a huge profit on a player who has only played 32 games for the club. But Liverpool manager Klopp remains adamant the 25-year-old will stay at Anfield no matter what Barca are prepared to pay.

The environment around this storm is improving, with less wind shear and dry air, but these still not ideal conditions should keep Tropical Depression Eight from getting too strong. The forecast is for TD 8 to strengthen into a tropical storm and move north northwest.

A turn toward the north is forecast for tonight, followed by a turn toward the north-northeast by Monday night.

Because of this, the National Hurricane Center is not issuing any watches or warnings on Gert. We are a few weeks from the height of the Atlantic Hurricane Season, which is around September 10th. It is now moving north-northwest at 13 miles per hour.
