No Man's Sky Atlas Rises Update Details

All of this changes the main story of No Man's Sky drastically, into an all new context with a "branching narrative" promising 30 hours of new content.

Entitled Atlas Rises, the update introduces monumental changes and improvements to numerous game's systems, including 30 hours of entirely new story content, new missions, and a barebones form of online multiplayer.

Players can also visit the new Mission Agent in Space Stations to pick up unique and rewarding new tasks as new missions are constantly generated, and cater to all play styles (scanning, trading, combat and exploration).

Other big changes include added variety to planetary biomes, an overhauled user interface, and visual improvements.

Travel is getting a bit of an overhaul as well. Because of this glitch in the matrix, a new alien race appeared through the now active ancient portals. You can also use them to revisit previous planets, other bases or just randomly skip to a new world.

The Atlas Rises update introduces another long-awaited feature that will help connect people: portals. With this new update, it sounds a lot more like the game Hello Games was trying to describe to us in so many interviews before the release of No Man's Sky.

Add or remove terrain to mold the landscape as you see fit, anywhere on any planet.

Players who come close to each other will see their fellow travellers visualised as unusual floating orbs, and will be able to travel with them and meet up on other planets.

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos has warned it "can't be excluded" that relations with Venezuela could be cut. Ortega has called the Constituent Assembly's election illegal, and said she would continue to be attorney general.

We know multiplayer was a planned feature for No Man's Sky, with it being downplayed so close to launch that limited edition copies of the game had a multiplayer logo covered up by a sticker.

No Man's Sky's photo mode now supports depth of field.

Make your base feel like part of the planet using materials, shapes and sizes of all types and feel like God at the touch of a button.

Players can travel together and interact with up to 16 other players. Apparently there are more upgrades to be equipped as well to improve it and reap even more rewards.

Space combat mechanics have been improved to make fighting in space more compelling.

During the lull between the Path Finder 1.2 and Atlas Rises 1.3, the No Man's Sky community has been led through a series of mysterious events. Multiplayer was not in the final game.
