For Honor is about to hold a free weekend

PlayStation 4 owners who have a PlayStation Plus membership will be able to try out Ubisoft's For Honor this weekend completely free of charge, but the deal will only be active for a limited time.

Ubisoft will be holding a free weekend for For Honor, giving those yet to give the swords and shield battler a go, the chance to do so for a few days without forking over any cash.

The free trial will include the entire game so expect a hefty download.

PlayStation Plus, and Xbox Live Gold are required.

What's more, starting August 8, PC and PS4 players will be able to pre-load the trial to be ready for the weekend. With the free trial running from August 10-13, it gives players just enough time to build up some progression and decided if they want to continue that momentum with the paid version. The "Grudge & Glory" update will add two new heroes and new maps to the game as well as promising a complete balance overhaul.

As part of this promotion, For Honor's Standard and Gold Editions (which comes with the season pass) will see a temporary price reduction from August 10 to 15.
