Risk for storms through Friday evening

Shower and storm coverage around 50%. Highs will be in the low and mid 80s.

Temperatures will get back to near normal, in the low to mid 80s, by mid week.

Overnights continue to be warm & muggy for the week ahead, with lows ranging from the low to mid 70s.

The front will stall near the I-85 corridor Saturday morning.

Chief Meteorologist Ross Janssen says that as the cooler weather settles across Kansas, rain chances will be ending, at least for now.

Temperatures are now at 75°, feeling comfortable outside with dew points in the mid-60s. South wind 5 to 10 miles per hour. Sunday night, there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 a.m. with a low around 60.

We'll be in good shape Friday night through the first half of Saturday before the next upper wave influences our area with a chance for additional showers or storms into Sunday morning.

Rain returns on Monday and it could come down heavy at times, especially late Monday into early Tuesday.

Wednesday will have a partly to mostly sunny sky as high pressure temporarily takes over.

Strong to severe storms are possible late Friday and through the evening.

TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain showers develop for Tuesday, with a high temperature of 81 degrees. The rain risk will be 20 percent. The high will be 85, after a morning low of 69. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 76.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.
