Bhaskar Koirala of the Nepal Institute of worldwide and Strategic Studies said the timing of the current tension is linked to remarks by Indian Foreign Secretary S Jaishankhar in Washington DC during Prime Minister Modi's visit there last month in which he used the term "strategic convergence" between the United States and India. "So, the matter is that cross-border terrorism in our region emanating from a particular source is threatening peace and stability not only in India but other neighbours", MEA spokesperson Gopal Baglay Thursday said.

Though the Government of India is not apprehending serious trouble along the worldwide border, the border guarding forces including the Army and the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel have been directed to remain alert all along the border with China and patrolling in the vulnerable patches have been increased.

"China has made it clear that there is no room for negotiations on this incident and India must withdraw its border-crossing troops from Doklam".

The row began on June 16, when Indian border troops approached a People's Liberation Army (PLA) group to stop building a road in an area claimed by both Bhutan and China. Over the last weekend, China issued a travel advisory telling its nationals to be careful in India, capping weeks of sharp rhetoric that has included Chinese officials asking India to pull back troops. But this time it is a totally different case.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang had said, "Both Pakistan and India are important countries in South Asia".

By contrast, Bradley will be an unrestricted free agent next summer, and was likely to draw heavy interest around the league. More deals could be upcoming for the Celtics as they go about setting their roster for the new season.

"Within the country, the Modi government has increased the profile of the Dalai Lama and the so-called Tibetan provisional government (which) are serious irritants for China". After the meeting, Sitaram Yechury of the CPI (M) said the government assured them that "they'll tackle the situation through dialogue".

Beijing also snubbed Indian foreign secretary S Jaishankar's remarks that he sees no reason why the two nations couldn't resolve existing differences when they have resolved past differences over the border successfully.

"That adjustment will result in significantly new capabilities being deployed over the next decade that may influence how India views nuclear weapons' role against Pakistan", they added, noting that the country is developing at least four more missile systems.

He said the Congress would fully "cooperate" with the government on issues relating to national security.
