Pennsylvania: body of one of four missing youths found buried on farm

Finocchiaro's body was found Wednesday in what authorities described as a 12.5-foot-deep "common grave" on a 90-acre property in Solebury Township in Bucks County. The district attorney, Matthew D. Weintraub, said on Thursday that the 12-foot deep grave was getting deeper as the search effort continued. "Make no doubt about it".

At least some of the missing men are friends, but it's unclear how well they knew DiNardo, if at all. Over the weekend, authorities from several local and state law enforcement agencies - along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation - launched an extensive criminal search effort, focusing on a sprawling farm belonging to DiNardo's parents and located in a rural area about 40 miles north of Philadelphia.

The son of the property's owners, 20-year-old Cosmo DiNardo, is under arrest. Cadaver dogs had led investigators to the common grave, which also contained other human remains which officials still need to identify.

"We're not going to rest until we get through every inch of that property", Weintraub said, according to The Associated Press.

So far, investigators have only been able to identify one set of remains - those of 19-year-old Dean Finocchiaro, one of the four young men who vanished last week.

He declined to say whether the remains of 22-year-old Mark Sturgis, 19-year-old Jimi Tar Patrick and 21-year-old Tom Meo were among those buried with the remains of Finocchiaro. Meo and Sturgis first met DiNardo when he was looking to sell marijuana, one of Meo's friends told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

At this moment, DiNardo - whose now-deleted Instagram account featured numerous images from his many hunts and deep see fishing excursions - is behind bars instead for allegedly stealing 21-year-old Tom Meo's vehicle.

Weintraub said an unnamed witness told authorities that DiNardo had attempted to sell the auto to him for $500. DiNardo is being held on $5 million cash bail for allegedly trying to sell Meo's 1996 Nissan Maxima for $500. On Tuesday, his parents posted bail with a $100K cashier's check - this represented 10% of the total bond amount.

As reported by Blasting News, 20-year-old #Cosmo DiNardo was arrested Monday. The other remains have not yet been identified.

Weintraub said a number of sites are now under investigation. "We're committed to seeing this through to the end, regardless of what it's going to take". In Pennsylvania, a district attorney's office may ask a police department to rearrest a person if the case's statute of limitations has not expired.
