Fresh Kid, whose real name was Chris Wong Won, was one of the founding members of the group, along with Yuri Vielot, known as Amazing Vee, and David Hobbs, known as DJ Mr. Mixx.

Fresh Kid Ice, whose birth name is Christopher Wong Won, was pronounced dead at a Miami hospital from an unknown medical condition, according to TMZ.

Famously, 2 Live Crew were the first musical artist to have an album declared legally obscene when their 1989 album, As Nasty As They Wanna Be dropped to outrage. 2 Live Crew's debut single, 1985's "Revelation", proved popular in Florida, so the troupe relocated to Miami. Campbell gave the group a record deal, served as their manager, and joined the group as rapper Luke Skywalker. In 1990 a federal court ruled that it was "obscene" and made it illegal for record stores in southern Florida to sell the album.
