Vehicle crashed into group of pedestrians in Boston

Several people have been injured after a taxi ran into a group of people near Logan Airport in Boston.

Two law enforcement sources told CNN the incident is being treated as an accident, not an act of terrorism.

The driver had no known history of violations and is cooperating with police, McGinn said.

The vehicle hit the victims on Porter Street at Tomahawk Drive, near the airport's taxi pools.

There were serious injuries in the crash.

Those injured are being evaluated and transferred to Massachusetts General Hospital, Tufts Medical Center, and Boston Medical Center, the authorities said. Sources say a 57-year-old East Boston cab driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a break area where other drivers were gathered. Massachusetts State Police are still investigating, but said the incident appeared to be operator error and not a terrorist attack.

Several pedestrians suffered injuries of varying degrees and ambulances are on the scene, police said.
