Facebook past its prime?

Facebook has passed the 2 billion users milestone, marking a doubling of the number of users in just five years, the company's top boss said Tuesday.

The milestone means that Facebook is still the planet's most popular social network. It's by far the most popular social media network.

By the end of 2016, Facebook had just over 1.86 billion monthly active users, more than a billion of which accessed the site every day. The company added 80 million monthly users in the first few months of the year, as ad revenue popped 51 percent from a year ago.

Starting today, Facebook will react when users tap the "Love" reaction button on a Friend's Post.
