Dufner sets Memorial Tournament record

Summerhays has finished in the top 100 in the FedExCup for each of the past five seasons, and a year ago finished T8 at the U.S. Open and third at the PGA Championship.

Chasing his first PGA Tour victory, unheralded American Daniel Summerhays carded a 68 to soar to 13 under, pouncing on spectacular collapse from overnight leader Jason Dufner (77).

Spieth had eight birdies, which was tied with Lingmerth, Summerhays, and Rickie Fowler for the most in the first round.

Daniel Summerhays joined Spieth at 66, while Justin Thomas and Lucas Glover were at 67.

English golfer Chris Wood moved into a one-stroke lead despite a bogey in his last hole in the third round of the Nordea Masters at Malmo, Sweden.

He holed five birdies on his back nine, including a 17-foot putt at the par-four sixth.

"Today was pretty pathetic on all accounts, so have to play better tomorrow", he said.

Justin Thomas, victor of the first two events of the year in Hawaii, joined Watson on nine under after carding a four-birdie 69, while Dufner also shares third place despite a day to forget for the former PGA champion. "I would have like to have hit a couple more fairways but hit my irons when I was in the fairways pretty good". "Even if it doesn't shake out how I want to [Sunday], I think I'll be like, 'Oh, where's the next hole I need to go play?"

President Donald Trump to announce US pullout from climate accord
The European Union and China indicated they would press ahead with the deal, regardless of USA participation. Trump himself kept everyone in suspense, saying he was still listening to "a lot of people both ways".

Dufner, a Northeast Ohio native and 2013 PGA Championship victor, shot 65-65 for 14-under through two rounds.

World No. 3 Ryu, who needs to finish at least third to have a chance to reach No. 1, opened with a three-over 74. Dufner had a pair of three-putts, and he twice missed birdie putts from 6 feet. "I played really, really solid golf and I'm really looking forward to [Sunday]".

"The tournament is not over", Dufner said. Fowler (66) was another shot behind.

After missing only five greens in his first 36 holes, Dufner missed his first four greens and finished the round having hit just 11 of 18. I have been playing quite nicely recently, but just not quite putting it all together.

Jordan Spieth was one shot out of the lead after the opening round but was already eight shots back when he teed off, and all he managed was a 72.

The four-time victor on the PGA Tour threatened to run away with the tournament after breaking the event's 36-hole record at Muirfield Village on Friday but he faded dramatically, holing six bogeys and a double-bogey.

World No.3 Jason Day has cursed sluggish starts at his hometown event but is desperate to find consistency in his final hit-out before the US Open.

Matsuyama was among a group of 13 players sharing 13th place that also included five-time major victor Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler.
