The Masters Of The Universe movie is coming to cinemas in 2019!

Sony Pictures has staked an official claim on December 18, 2019 for its big-budget Masters of the Universe movie, but the project has lost its captain in director McG (Terminator: Salvation, Charlie's Angels). According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, things have now changed and the director is no longer attached to He-Man and instead Sony is meeting with directors to find a replacement. Goyer, however, has reportedly been hired to write a new screenplay.

Masters of the Universe is a re-imagining of the He-Man cartoon series and 1980s' live-action movie. The film is now booked for a release on December 18, 2019, just in time for Christmas.

According to the Hollywood trade, Sony is now meeting with various unnamed directors and actors for the film. He joined the project in 2016 but has now departed.

The department, however, said that both China and Germany should do more to reduce their large trade surpluses with the US. He publicly retreated from that position after meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Florida last weekend.

No specific reason has been stated why, but McG was pretty much cheerleading this film all by himself and made lofty comparisons with Marvel and Game Of Thrones. Countless directors have flirted with the property, and plenty of writers have taken a crack at the script, including writers Alex Litvak and Mike Finch, who initially worked on the script over six years ago, circling back to try again most recently.

No cast members have been announced yet, but the website notes that "A-list talent" is up for roles in the project.

I'm sure some of you have been putting the old Master of the Universe just to get a He-Man fix.
