Eighth-grader with rare brain cancer to announce Ravens' first-round pick

NFL fans will be waiting with bated breath to see who their team will pick at the 2017 NFL Draft, and during the broadcast, there will be one lucky Ravens fan who will bear an important responsibility.

Thanks to the Ravens and the Make-A-Wish foundation, Onwuanibe will step up to the microphone in Philadelphia and tell the world who his team has drafted with their No. 16 overall pick.

"I heard that you asked Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic to send you to the NFL Draft, and your wish is to announce the Ravens' first pick", coach Jim Harbaugh said in the video. Through Make-A-Wish, he requested the opportunity to declare a Ravens draft pick. The Ravens' cheerleaders and mascot even made an appearance at the school to help Onwuanibe celebrate.

John Oliver also dedicated a show segment to the topic, which raised awareness of an otherwise jargon-y, abstract issue. It propagates and promotes that FCC should police the broadband provider actions using the utility-style regulation.

This isn't the first time TJ has caught the attention of the media though.

Onwuanibe learned two years ago that he had cancer, which is now in remission.

Earlier this month, Onwuanibe organized a school drive to donate pajamas to terminally ill children, according to WBAL-TV in Baltimore.
