The National Weather Service is estimating the potential for as much as 6 inches of snowfall in Worcester between the afternoon Friday and early Saturday morning. Also, heavy sleet is likely for many with occasional rain mixing in through the valley. Fortunately, most temperatures were above freezing, reducing the risk of freezing rain.

A winter storm warning has been issued for parts of MA.

The first weather system may bring some light snow or even rain Friday, but the main event holds off until later in the day and overnight as the secondary storm takes shape.

Snow continues for many areas this morning, but this system isn't coming in as strong as expected.

Meanwhile the foothills will get the heaviest snow in the Front Range region with 8-16 inches possible above about 6,500 feet in Jefferson, Boulder, and Larimer Counties and then west into Summit County. It's important to note: A difference of a degree or two from the ground to the clouds would mean the difference between rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow.

The flip-side of that argument is that having so many games against direct rivals gives you a real chance if you can win them. Arsenal have lost just one of their 19 previous Premier League home matches against Manchester City (W12, D6).

By midnight, the official weather service measurement site at Albany International Airport will have recorded very close to the historic month's average of 2.89 inches of precipitation. This storm is looking more and more like a slushy/icy mix for areas north of I-84 and a mainly rain event south of there. Highs today will only be in the 30's to low 40's and winds won't be very strong, only around 10-20 miles per hour at most. And by the standards set earlier this winter, it was positively frigid. That's colder than February, which averaged 33.3 degrees, 7.4 degrees higher than average.

Temperatures then slowly warm up for Sunday and the beginning of next week before more rain moves back in by Tuesday.

"We've been dry recently", she said.

Quiet weather returns by Sunday into Monday before additional chances of rain and snow arrive by the middle of next week.

Thursday: Partly sunny. Highs 50s.
