Ceasefire set to take effect in eastern Ukraine

President Trump's personal lawyer has acknowledged to NBC News that he met privately in New York last month with a controversial Russian-born Trump associate and a member of Ukraine's parliament, but disputes a New York Times report that the men gave him a peace plan for Ukraine that he delivered to then-National Security Adviser Mike Flynn.

The initiative is likely to anger Petro Poroshenko, the Ukrainian president, who has explicitly ruled out "swapping" Crimea for Donbas and says Russian Federation must stick to the Minsk peace agreement, the existing peace plan he negotiated with Vladimir Putin two years ago. According to information first revealed by the New York Times, Trump's personal lawyer (Michael Cohen), a former business associate (Felix Sater), and a member of the Ukrainian parliament (Andrii Artemenko) met to discuss a possible peace plan for Russian Federation that could give Moscow control over the territory it seized in 2014.

Petro Poroshenko, Ukraine's president, said that the Kremlin's announcement on Saturday was further "evidence of Russian occupation and violation of global law".

The White House, Michael Cohen, Felix Sater and Andrii Artemenko were not immediately available for comment when contacted by CNBC on Monday.

"I'm sure this is the right time, when Trump's administration is looking for new people who will be able to sort out this truly complicated task", he said.

Mr. Cohen said he was waiting for a response when Mr. Flynn was forced from his post. The Times describes the group behind the plan as amateur diplomatic freelancers, and while this is obviously a lot more smoke in the already murky story regarding Team Trump's possible connections to Russian Federation, the new report alleges no wrongdoing regarding the scheme.

Majority of the work on the C36 focused on reducing drag coefficient with the use of wider tires and weight reduction. It's that time of year again where Formula 1 teams introduce their new cars for the upcoming race season.

"How can Russian Federation lease its own region?"

"Cohen, for his part, called the reporting surrounding the meeting "#fakenews".

Although The Times reported that Cohen left this proposal in a sealed envelope for Flynn's consumption prior to the latter's resignation, Cohen adamantly denied this to The Washington Post. Artemenko told the Times he had evidence ofUkrainian President Petro Poroshenko's corruption that could lead to his ouster. "Mr. Sater told the Times that Mr. Cohen had told him the same thing", Matt Purdy, a deputy managing editor, said in a statement. He said he stands by his story that he never did anything with the plan.

Since pro-Russian rebels revolted against Kyiv's newly-installed pro-Western government in early 2014, the armed conflict in Ukraine's mostly Russian-speaking East has cost some 10,000 lives. He said he attended the meeting as a courtesy to Sater, a former business colleague.

Sater previously worked with Trump in the mid-2000's on a variety of real estate deals in New York City.

Some are highlighting the presence of murky business associate Sater, who once pleaded guilty to Mafia-related stock fraud, as particularly important.
