Cars catch fire in Disneyland parking structure, no injuries

Authorities say several cars caught fire in the main parking structure at Disneyland, and about a half-dozen people are being treated for smoke inhalation. Four were taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening and the rest declined to be transported, said Sgt. Daron Wyatt of the Anaheim Police Department. The damage tally financially for the fire is $180,000, with eight vehicles hit with extensive damage and another "one to three" vehicles suffering minor damage, police said.

A fire broke out in a parking structure at Disneyland on February 13, 2017.

The parking structure was closed and evacuated as a result of the fire, fire officials said. "This is a parking structure that holds over 10,000 cars", he said.

All floors of the parking structure reopened for guests and employees around 8:30 p.m.

The number of cars affected was not clear, but videos from the scene showed thick black smoke billowing from the structure.

Park visitors were allowed to retrieve their vehicles just before 7 p.m., according to Anaheim police. The cause of the fire is now under investigation, but there is nothing to suggest foul play at this time.
