Thandie Newton 'in talks to star in Han Solo film'

Thandie Newton is reportedly in talks with Disney over a potential role in the upcoming Star Wars spin-off Han Solo film.

Han Solo movie is happening and as the days progress we are getting more confirmations about the behind the camera and on-camera cast and crew.

Thandie Newton was recently nominated for Golden Globe for her performance as "host" Maeve Millay on HBO's Westworld.

As Variety exclusively reported this week, "Fleabag" actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge is also in talks for a key role in the pic.

Before fans of the Marvel Star Wars comic series declare Newton is playing Sana Solo (Han's alleged wife) because she is a woman of color, let me point out a few things.

Germaine de Randamie: 'If I fought men, I can fight Holly'
People who never watched MMA ever are supporting me right now and the most important thing for me is to enjoy it. This was just not a good idea. "It's Holly and me fighting, not Cris, so it is what it is, I'm sorry".

Details of Newton's character were being kept locked tight.

As for Newton, she is a great match for Star Wars.

It is interesting to note that both Clarke and Newton appear on hit HBO shows, because, while it could be a coincidence, it could also mean that Kathleen Kennedy and Allison Shearmur watch a lot of HBO and subsequently Clarke and Newton's acting.

Slated for a May 25, 2018 release, the Han Solo movie will be executive produced by Lawrence Kasdan and Jason McGatlin and co-produced by Will Allegra.

The 44-year-old British actress is best known for playing handsome, razor-sharp madam Maeve Millay in HBO's Westworld, as well as her film roles in The Pursuit of Happyness and Mission: Impossible II.
