Xbox Exclusive Game, Scalebound, Officially Cancelled

Xbox Exclusive Game, Scalebound, Officially Cancelled

After years of focusing on stylized action titles, Scalebound was developed with heavy RPG elements elements in mind.

Rumors of the cancellation first surfaced on Kotaku, which reported sources saying that the plug had been pulled following a lengthy stretch in "development hell".

The last tweet from the game's Twitter account came in September 2016- until today, when the game's cancellation was announced. The title has been in development for years over at Platinum Games under the leadership of Hideki Kamiya, who was also behind Devil May Cry, Bayonetta and Resident Evil 2.

Scalebound is no longer coming to PC or Xbox One.

Microsoft's full statement says: "After careful deliberation, Microsoft Studios has come to the decision to end production for Scalebound". Eurogamer has asked Microsoft for comment. "At Microsoft, we remain committed to making Xbox and Windows 10 the best places to play games, and look forward to bringing "Halo Wars 2, ' 'Crackdown 3, ' 'State of Decay 2, ' 'Sea of Thieves" and other great experiences to our fans".

HTC's TPCast Peripheral Actually Works; Company Releases Two New Accessories
HTC isn't talking pricing for the new strap yet but says it will be available by the end of the second quarter of the year. While not coming from HTC themselves, they expect the first fully wireless solutions for Vive to appear later this year.

This was Platinum Games' most ambitious title to date and the first role-playing game from the studio. Additionally, the hero could issue commands to the dragon and Platinum last showed off four-player co-op support. By the time they returned, the game was behind schedule, leading to further conflict.

Little has been since of Crackdown 3 since August of 2015. The game was expected to arrive sometime this year.

It's unclear whether Scalebound could still be revived by Platinum, but as we understand it, work on the project as we know it has now concluded.

Created to be exclusive to Microsoft, it was hoped it would drive gamers to the Xbox One over other consoles. There was very little news about the game since its announcement, although it managed to make an appearance at E3 past year, and detailed some of its gameplay the following August.
